Ultimate HUD Pack

I had an idea about a new package a few days ago. Essentially, this asset will provide a whole host of options for customizing game HUDs. As of now, the work that has been put into it is catered more toward RPGs since I have a bit of a biased toward them, but by release the package will be a useful tool for other genres as well.

Some features I want to have in the package include, but are certainly not limited to:

  • Various styled themes pre-made and ready to choose from.
  • Targeting players, enemies, or objects
    • Setting target type (friendly, enemy, neutral)
    • Setting target type colors
    • Cursor highlighting based on target type hover
    • Selecting target
    • Setting maximum selected targets 
    • Hotkeys for targeting, multi-targeting, and de-selecting targets
  • 3D space progress bars. (health, energy, xp, attack)
    • Target viewable distance (how far or close before the target UI becomes inactive)
    • Target viewable scale (option for scaling target UI based on viewable distance)
  • 2D space progress bars (health, energy, xp, attack)
    • Optional target portraits
    • Target viewable distance (how far or close before the target UI becomes inactive)
  • 3D space notifications (damage dealt, effects on enemies or player, etc...)
    • Determine notification type (damage, effect, etc...)
    • Set notification behavior (static, move direction, fade time, life time)
    • Set notification relative to target/player.
  • 2D space notifications (anything the user needs to update the player with)
    • Flexibility to assign notification space.
    • Determine notification type (alert, update, etc...)
    • Set notification behavior (static, move direction, fade time, life time...)

Work has begun on this asset. I expect to complete version 1 by March 24, 2016.
